‘The Taco’ Service for Forks

Your fork is working hard every minute you are on the bike, there is no better way to prevent costly internal damage than this routine lower leg service. We replace the lower seals and clean out the lower legs (which are typically filled with grit, dirty oil and other undesirables.) While we have your fork apart, we give everything else a close look for signs of possible damage.

Details of ‘The Taco’ Service:

  • removal of lower chassis for cleaning
  • replacement of main fork seals/wipers
  • inspection of bushings, and all moving parts
  • new external crush-washer/retainer
  • replacement of suspension fluid
  • reassembled and torqued to manufacturer specifications

Maintenance Matters. This is a 1-beer maintenance job any rider can perform easily at home. If you have the right tools, knowledge, and a clean workspace, go for it! If you’d rather have someone else take care of it – we’re happy to oblige!

RECOMMENDED SERVICE INTERVAL
50 hours
50 hours may sound like a lot of riding, however if you hit the trail 2 days per week, for 2 hours, you are riding over 200 hours per year! This means the average rider should plan a fork service every 3-4 months.
